Drink up! Using Kanbe’s rescued apples, participating venues will be whipping up delicious Maker’s Mark cocktail. $1 of every drink will support Kanbe’s Markets efforts to fight hunger in our city.

The Ugly Dinner Series - Farina

Food waste is an ugly but fixable problem..

Every year millions of pounds of produce is sent to the landfill simply because of cosmetic flaws or surplus product. That’s where Kanbe’s Markets comes in. By working directly with local wholesalers we are able to rescue thousands on pounds of produce every week.

The Ugly Dinner Series is a seven dinner series in partnership with some of Kansas City’s best chefs to bring you a four course dinner featuring Kanbe’s imperfect produce. Watch misshapen carrots, deformed potatoes, tiny strawberries and more be transformed into a beautiful meal.

Kanbe’s Markets has a goal of rescuing a million pounds of produce in 2023 and proceeds from tickets to this dinner help fund these efforts.

Block to Block with Love, Tito's

Block to Block, inspired by Tito's farm at the distillery, "Love, Tito's" is reconnecting neighborhoods in need by growing community gardens and farms through the Block-to-Block program and teaming up with nonprofits nationwide to make it happen. This will be a big project as orchard plantings go - we will be hand-digging holes and planting 50-55 fruit and nut trees. We will also be running a produce drive for the neighborhood. So be prepared to get your hands dirty and a bit of a workout, chat with neighborhood residents about the new orchard as they take home a free box of fresh produce, provided by Kanbe's Markets!
